Possibilities and potential bring together the threads of Monica’s career. Working with and for individuals, families, communities, organisations and sectors, committed to equity and fairness, for many years Monica has worked across the community, health, education, business and government sectors.

Her journey in the health sector led her to become the CEO of the Genetic Support Network of Victoria in 2017 and soon after joining the Board of Directors at Asia Pacific Alliance of Rare Disease Organisations, Advocacy Beyond Borders and recently as a Rare Disease International Council Member.

Monica is actively engaged on many Boards, Committees, Research Projects (CI and AI) and Advisory/Working Groups including HTAi Rare Disease and Developing Countries working groups, International Rare Disease Consortium Research, International Consortium on Newborn Sequencing, Involve Australia, Genomics Industry Alliance – Australia, Patient Voice Initiative and the Victorian Government Health Information Sharing Management Group.

E-labelling as a pathway to a future Universal Label

Session objectives:

  • Share the experience of adopting e-labelling, and opportunities for further harmonization and better interoperability.
  • Open a dialogue on the concept of universal labelling, in the context of an evolving digital healthcare ecosystem highlighting its potential to streamline supply chain logistics, reduce packaging waste, and support a green economy.
  • Examine how these systems may alleviate drug shortages, enhance preparedness for future pandemics, and expedite manufacturing processes.
  • By initiating this vital conversation now, the session seeks to align direction around future digital labelling options.
